With a name inspired by a line in the Beatles song 'Cry, Baby, Cry' it is clear that music is at the heart of everything the Duchess does. The popular family run pub, which is located in the centre of the busy town of Kirkcaldy in Fife, dishes up a great mix of home cooked food and traditional tipples together with a huge serving of eclectic tunes in a vintage, glam environment.
Whether you are a fan of 70s funk, 90s Brit pop, Northern Soul or new and upcoming artists they have it covered. And with a 2am license at the weekends, The Duchess is definitely the place to be to party on down after dark.
Working in conjunction with our sister company, Unlimited Light, we supplied and installed three custom fibre optic chandeliers which uniquely combine wine glasses and fibre to create a quirky feature above the bar. 150 tails of end lit fibre have been fed through the base of each chandelier and dispersed amongst the glassware. Four fibre optic downlights which are installed in the base of each chandelier highlight the installations below.
In the lounge area of the pub a striking star effect has been created on the ceiling, using more than 400 tails of our end lit polymer fibre. The fibre tails which vary in diameter and length lead back to a MicroLED light source which is stored in a location easily accessed by the pub's staff. The overall effect contrasts perfectly with the classic décor of the rest of the room, providing an interesting juxtaposition.
