UFO Licht Website Fibre Optic Harnesses
Our range of glass fibre harnesses are made up of tails which contain many fine glass fibres sheathed in a black coloured low smoke Megolon material.
Fibre ends are finished with crimp terminations for small diameters and with brass or stainless steel ferrules for larger diameters. Ferrules allow end fittings to be attached to the fibre tails.
Larger diameters are available on request with soft silicone at the ends of the tails for use when articulated fittings are used in a tight space for the fibre bend radius.
Standard ferrule options are shown in the ordering codes table below, however, other options are available including 1/4" smooth, M7 and 8mm smooth. Ferrules are supplied in brass as standard or in stainless steel for use outdoors or in damp areas.

Megolon Sheathing
Megolon S540 is a thermoplastic, halogen free cable sheathing compound which exhibits an excellent level of fire retardancy. This product is specifically aimed at designs of cables requiring a good degree of flexibility and the ability to meet the more stringent fire test specifications.

*Note - maximum capacities are stated above. In normal usage we will fill a common end to only 90% of its capacity (or 75% if specified with a Gemini light source). This ensures that a consistent light output is delivered through all fibre tails.
