Since starting out in the industry more than 30 years ago, we have developed an extensive range of fibre optic and LED lighting systems and with it a reputation for quality and excellence.

We have one of the widest ranges available and are extremely proud of the fact that our fibre optic and LED lighting products are designed, manufactured and assembled in-house at our 35,000 square foot headquarters in Coldstream, Scotland.

Whether you are an OEM client interested in purchasing reels of fibre, a lighting designer in need of a bespoke lighting system for an architectural application, or a member of the public who wants to install a star ceiling or downlighters in your home, we can develop a solution to your exact specifications, on time and in budget.

Our continued investment in the latest technologies and strategic vision for growth has led us to expand our product range more recently. The addition of our energy efficient LED light sources and luminaires, all of which have been designed and manufactured by us, gives our clients more choice than ever before for illumination.

Specifying

Our clients are at the heart of everything we do at UFO. Without you we wouldn't be where we are today, that is why our sales engineers treat each and every one of you with the utmost care and attention, regardless of the size and scope of you project.

Our sales engineers have years of experience in specifying projects of all sizes and specifications and are completely knowledgeable when it comes to our fibre optic and LED ranges. On listening to your requirements they will be able to offer advice, and let you know if our standard products or a custom solution are required. If you require a demo of any of our products, this can be arranged at UFO or at your premises or site.

Design & Prototype

Once you have an inkling of what it is that you want to achieve and have discussed it with our sales engineers, our in-house design team will then take your idea and transform it into a fully-fledged design concept. All that they need are CAD drawings or sketches, once they have them they can get to work using state-of-the-art 3D design software. It's an exciting part of the process and one where you can really delve into your imagination and let your create spirit take hold.

Manufacturing

We are one of only a few lighting manufacturers in the world that have the sheer in-house capabilities to design and create almost everything that we sell. And if that wasn't impressive enough, we are also the only manufacturer in the UK who has the ability to self-produce the raw fibre that is used in fibre optic lighting systems.

Our ability to carry out the complete process from concept to completion means that we can provide you with innovative products that are well made and use the best parts, shorter lead times than our competitors and custom made solutions to meet your exact requirements.

Once the design process is complete, production then begins in our factory. Our engineering team has access to more than £2.5million worth of CNC machinery and will utilise this to fabricate the components that make up your lighting solution.

Installation

Once your lighting system has been manufactured to your exact specifications and passed our rigorous quality control procedures, our team of fully trained lighting installers can visit your premises or site, to carry out the installation. They are just as at home installing pavers in the grounds of a high-end residence as they are working in the harshest conditions in the middle of an ocean.

The installation is an optional part of the process and is something that can be discussed with our sales engineers at the outset or further through the process.
