Museum & Gallery Display Lighting Projects

The Walker Art Gallery

Liverpool, UK

Located in the busy city centre of Liverpoool, the Walker Art Gallery has recently undergone a 3-year, £4.5 million refurbishment. Now that the work has been completed, the Medieval, Renaissance and Baroque treasures of the Walker Art Gallery have returned to public display.
Through remarkable paintings, prints, drawings, decorative art and sculpture, the galleries explore centuries of human creativity and expression. With fresh interpretation and thoughtful design, they will also explore stories that have been historically excluded in these spaces.
UFO Lighting were delighted to be chosen by display case manufacturer Meyvaert to supply lighting systems to illuminate the prestigious items in the display cases of this new exhibition.
After discussion with Meyvaert who had specific requirements regarding the dimming levels of the system, it was decided that our Stem LED lighting and our CC10 drivers would be perfect for the application. Both removable and telescopic variants of the Stem were employed. The telescopic version allows for easy vertical adjustment of the LED heads, whilst the removable Stems can be taken out of the cases altogether whilst leaving the electrical connections in place for future use.
The finished cases look great and the lighting really brings out the best in the displayed items.
